Reductive Stone Carving

Permanence carved into monolithic stone

Every commission proceeds strictly from quarried raw marble and crystalline onyx, shaped entirely by hand mallet and point chisel without cast molds.

Acoustic assessment at the quarry face

Before extraction, each block is struck with a steel hammer to read its resonant ring. Clear acoustic resonance verifies uniform crystallization and the absence of internal fractures across the bed.

Blocks for architectural mantels and monumental statues are isolated directly in Carrara and selected Middle Eastern veins, ensuring chromatic continuity across multi-ton single-piece works.

Pumice Finish

A one-third scale clay model fixes anatomical balance and relief depth before touching the stone.

Heavy iron points and copper-headed mallets clear excess quarry mass to expose the core volume.

Graduated claw chisels establish surface planes, muscle structure, and delicate architectural drapery.

Successive water-rubbed volcanic abrasives bring natural crystalline translucency without synthetic sealers.
